WFIs Scientific Mission

Since its creation, WFI has been active in promoting and contributing to IVF science. Without those scientists and doctors that have gone before, we would not be able to offer the treatments that are available today.

WFIs research involvement includes:

External collaborations: WFI has links to both Cardiff and Swansea Universities. WFI plays a major role in projects investigating sperm function and fertilisation as well as the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to embryo selection and novel biochemical methods for the investigation of embryo metabolism.

In-house research: Embryologists, Andrologists, Doctors, Nurses, Counsellors and Students have all undertaken their own research at WFI. Most have presented their work at various International meetings or published in peer reviewed journals.

It is likely that before your treatment with us you will be asked whether you'd like to participate in one of our studies. If you do, you will need to read all the patient information associated with the study and sign the appropriate consent forms. Please feel free to ask a member of our team for further information should you need it. Your decision to take part, or not, in research will have no effect on your treatment.
